He goes over same material over and over again which is very good. As long as you understand the problem set, you are good to go!

Mirman is probably the most interesting professor at UVA! I started off not liking the course but only because i didn't do the problem sets before the midterm and therefore failed the midterm. I then started doing problem sets and got a 96 on the final. Over all he's a very entertaining lecturer and DO THE PROBLEM SETS!

try to avoid to take this class if you want to learn econ or major in econ. going to the lecture occasionally is recommended because he tends to spend about have of a class reviewing what he covers from the previous lecture.

You must do the problem sets if you want to succeed. The midterm is very difficult and most students fail, the final is easier and the grading system makes no sense at all. He's funny during lectures, but I would suggest working in groups on the problem sets, because his exams are based on those.

This class was insane. No textbook and only Midterm and Final for grades. Really study and understand the problem sets to do well in the class.

If you are looking for a class that requires virtually no work, Mirman is for you. All you have to do is study for the midterm and the final. However, you will most likely not learn a lot about Economics in this course. Mirman is easy, but if you want a good teacher, go for Elzinga.

No discussion session, no homework, no textbook. Only two tests. First test (midterm) doesn't matter much. Work the problem sets a couple times before the second test (final) and you should get at least a B for the class.

Only two tests, a midterm and a final. The midterm is really difficult, but the final is ridiculously easy. If you do badly on the midterm, he'll only count the final, so it's really easy to get a good grade. You won't learn much though. Very math intensive, not much theory.
