Not as hard as people make it to seem.

The class touches upon a bunch of different things that the Comm School as to offer but doesnt really do a great job in doing so.
Boring, but don't let it discourage you
You'll work hard and have to study a lot of information, but the course has great useful information and techniques.
The class was ok. Some people didn't like it because it is kind of broad (covers accounting, marketing, information technology, management, etc). Good class to take to see if Commerce interests you. Also very helpful if you're going into accounting (Comm 201 & 202), since more emphasis is on that than anything else.
Cant really avoid this class but its sorta hard. Grades are curved a lot though.
I thought Professor Atchison's lectures were intersting and easy to follow. He always used real examples like: Starbucks, Walmart, and multiple airlines. The financial accounting part of the class was a little dry, but Atchison has many guest lectures for the second half of the course, which keeps things interesting.
The best part of this class was the lab with Jimmy Commons. I totally recommend signing up for him as your TA if you have to take this class.
Nice teachers who care about their students. The only real negative thing about this class is that the lectures are boring and sometimes that lectures aren't useful.
He is definatly a morning person - he does not talk about too much relavant information in class so hard to know what is going on. It is A LOT of information squished into a short class - tests are really hard/or at least used ot be.
