PSYC 2400

Interesting class but very difficult

Prof turkheimer is such a nice guy and seems actually interested in what he teaches. the class can get boring at times like any intro level psych class, but this one is interesting if you listen. very easy to get an A if you study a typical amount and read before tests

kindof arrogant, tests were pretty easy

Mr. Turkheimer's class was bearable; at times I don't believe that he did Personality Psychology a justice. During many of his lectures he would ramble on for quite some time and just didn't keep attention very well. The only grades in this class are 4 tests (he drops the lowest of them), but you must past the Final.

Turkheimer seems like a nice enough guy, but he tends to go on and on about things that aren't on the slides and jump around between slides, so it's hard to know what's important. The tests don't seem like they should be much of a problem, but even with coming to class, studying, and reading, I barely scraped out with a B+. Turkheimer also spends a large amount of time talking about Freud and sex, among other things, so if that kind of discussion makes you uncomfortable, this isn't your class, because you're going to hear about it A LOT.

the first half of this class was more interesting than the second half, but overall I liked it. There were definitely some boring lectures especially toward the end, and Turkheimer tended to ramble about his own research which is what I cared less about.

you need to do all of the reading (including hte case studies), take class notes, and read all his slides on powerpoints to do well in this class. i've worked hard and cant make higher than a B, but i do leave reading until the last minute. if you are okay with the reading you should do fine

Not my favorite of the PSYC classes I've taken so far. We spent most of the semester talking about Freud, which got old after awhile. Turkheimer is not the most dynamic lecturer and doesn't engage students very effectively.

This class could be interesting but Turkheimer basically only talks about sex and Freud all semester. His lectures are extremely scattered and don't follow the readings at all. He says his test questions come from the reading and lecture but there are at least 5-10 questions on each test that come from no where. I wouldn't recommend him- take the class with a different professor or don't take it at all.

This class was not hard to do well in as long as you did the reading and somewhat paid attention in lecture. The tests are all multiple choice, about 30-40 questions each. Turkheimer's lectures were pretty interesting most of the time and he usually let class out early.
