This class is very reading intensive (it's a 5000-level course). Besides reading about one book a week, the grades in the class are a presentation, 5-7 page reading response, and a final exam. So, besides the reading the course work is not too difficult. Class time is spent in discussion of readings. If you are interested in Global Legal History, TAKE THIS CLASS. Halliday is a phenomenal professor who cares about his students and about the subject matter. He offers a nuanced and multifaceted approach to legal history that is essential to undergrads interested in law school.
