(I took this course online.) This class is a survey of medieval French literature mixed with modern film adaptations. We studied the legends of King Arthur, Lancelot, Perceval, and Robin Hood. We were graded on participation, a few short assignments, and one semester-long group project to produce a detailed film pitch and 5-page paper. Ogden grades strictly but provides ample opportunity to redo work for extra credit. Half of our sessions were asynchronous. Ogden is a brilliant professor who studies medieval French manuscripts and uses this class to show students the connections between medieval legends and modern ideas of heroism. She pays extraordinary care to the health and wellbeing of her students. #tCFspring2021
