Mme Berard grades insanely toughly. Not worth taking if you are not a native speaker, and have fantastic writing skills. That said, she herself is a wonderful professor in class.

Mme Berard is one of the most enthusiastic among enthusiastic french teachers at UVA. She is always willing to help and is very open to new ideas. There are three fair-lengthed books to read, two short stories, and an exerpt from a long novel. Two short papers and a final paper. This class was very enlightening and worthwhile!
