At the beginning of the semester, I absolutely dreaded taking French. However, Professor Holtzman changed my views over the course of the semester and now I am planning on minoring in it because of how much I learned. This class involved a lot of reading and discussions/debates/presentations, but I truly think that was the key to improving my French, especially my speaking skills. This class tied together everything I had learned in previous years to make me become (almost) fluent in French. Prof Holtzman is very knowledgable about French and also very accessible and kind to her students. With only 9 students, sometimes the class moved a little slow but overall it facilitated a lot of discussion. I'd recommend for anyone looking to continue further with French/fulfill their language requirement!
