    Seeks to understand elementary reaction types as a function of chemical structure by emphasizing organic compounds.     This course builds on the techniques learned in CHEM 4411 to study the structure/function relationship of a protein. Experiments are designed to determine the function of a protein and/or the effect of a mutation on function. Experimental methods include protein expression and purification, spectrophotometric kinetic methods and statistical analysis of data, and molecular visualization.Prerequisite: CHEM 4411 with a grade of C- or better.
