Course Description

Pre-Requisite(s): CHEM 1821

Further development of the laboratory skills acquired in CHEM 1821, for the organic synthesis (including multistep synthesis) of compounds such as esters, amides, peptides, polymers, organometallics. Extensive hands-on experience using spectroscopic (NMR, IR, UV) and chromatographic methods for the characterization of organic compounds. One hour lab lecture and four hours laboratory meets weekly. CHEM 2810 must be taken concurrently or prior to CHEM 2811. Drop/withdrawal from CHEM 2810, requires drop/withdrawal from CHEM 2811.
