Mechanics of Composite Materials

Course Description

Prerequisites

CE 2310 or equivalent and a computer language

Analyzes the properties and mechanics of fibrous, laminated composites; stress, strain, equilibrium, and tensor notation; micromechanics, lamina, laminates, anisotropic materials, classical lamination theory, stiffness and strength, interlaminar stresses, fabrication, and test methods; thermal stresses, analysis, design and computerized implementation. Taught concurrently with AM 6650.
