Truly terrible class and one of the worst graders I've seen in my college career. Doesn't give above an 85 on any papers no matter how well the writing is. She criticizes you for bringing in class content. She is so bad that our entire class would talk about how stringent and unfair she is at grading before she arrived in class.

Professor Buckelew made this the absolute best class! One of my favorites taken at the University/in the sociology department. There is a good deal of reading and four, five page essays covering readings during the course that can keep you busy when each are due, but it is all on extremely interesting topics, and she is amazing at facilitating what is already an interesting conversation. Grading can be a tad stringent, but she is always willing to accommodate seeing people for office hours. Otherwise, she's a fun/funny, smart, interesting professor with lots of experience! Definitely a worthwhile and interesting class that really opened up my eyes to aspects and perspectives within our society I have never considered.
