I took this course Spring 2011. Even though it was supposed to be a discussion, most of the class was spent listening to Olick ramble about somewhat-relevant stories from his life. No tests, but you had to write eight 2-page "memos" on readings over the course of the semester. Also a 12-15 page final paper on whatever topic you chose, so long as you could argue that it was related to deviance/social control. Not a bad or particularly hard class, just not engaging; I spent most of classes fooling around on my laptop and I ended up with an A.
