Professor Ma is the best. She was really accommodating when I had to miss the first two weeks of school or when I had to get an extension on 3 assignments (I emailed her ahead of time). She teaches Linear Algebra in a way that's easy to understand and her worksheets really help you practice things. She's one of my favorite APMA professors. You only have weekly assignments for homework and otherwise classwork helps pad your grade. Definitely start your webwork early so you can go to office hours!

Extremely challenging course. Professor Ma is unbelievably helpful, but the three midterms and final are extremely difficult. One of hardest courses I have taken.

Professor Ma is great, and she was very good at teaching, but the content as a whole was very difficult, and I agree with the other comments when they say that this was one of the more challenging classes they have taken at UVA. I would do all the worksheets and do very well, but the tests were often much harder than the worksheets and did not reflect very well the level of the problems we practiced in class. The averages for the tests were a C every time. The webwork was also very hard.
