To be honest I find differential equations fun, but the Socolovsky in this course is pretty hard to deal with he's very stubborn and commonly makes mistakes with grades and is unwilling to fix them. I would recommend Diffeq in APMA but not with this professor.

So Socks has a teaching style of not teaching. He's a very sweet guy and tries his best to help you but sometimes (often) he gets easily confused and ends up confusing you too. In general, DiffEQ is a mostly self taught class to begin with so hes not that much different than other professors. But he ain't the best.

Absolutely. terrible. teacher. Avoid at all costs to keep your sanity. Huge language barrier and does not understand anything you say to him. Does not explain anything in class and simply just does examples on the board for the whole class with little to no interaction from the students. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HIS SECTION.

If you can avoid Socolovsky, AVOID HIM. I took 1110 with him and I might as well have never showed up for how much help he was. He is patronizing in office hours and entirely unhelpful. Worst class experience ever, second only to Leung in Gen Chem 1. Literally any other professor is better than he is. He does grade you down if you do not show up to class. Just save yourself the pain and don't take him. If you're forced into his class because of scheduling may god be with you and the Center for Diversity in Engineering is a great place for tutoring.

DO NOT TAKE SOCOLOVSKY'S CLASS. I took 1110 with him and it was a terrible experience. single-question quizzes, short, difficult tests, and a lack of teaching ability make this class very difficult. only good thing: no clickers
