I really enjoyed this class. Professor Reynolds is amazing and her lectures were actually really interesting. What I loved most is that participation was graded based off of our work in Perusall, which actually was a huge part of the work in this class. There were 3 group assignments and 3 individual assignments- nothing else besides perusall. Pray that you get a good group and you'll be set, but if not, Prof Reynolds allows you to submit your assignment without your group if you feel as though you weren't satisfied with their work. Perusall is the website we used every week where you annotate the readings (fyi, there was quite a bit of reading/video watching to do some weeks). You were graded based on how many annotations you did, where you annotated (you had to have some in the beginning, some in the middle, and some at the end to show that you read the whole thing), and how many people upvoted your annotations (this was to ensure you were contributing meaningful things). I thought it was pretty fun to read other people's annotations and to see people respond to yours, so I really enjoyed it. But like I said, at times there was a lot to read and annotate. Some weeks there would be 4 long readings and a video to watch. However, I don't think it was a big deal because that was the majority of the work in the class and it counted as our participation. There weren't any tests or quizzes either.
