This class was pretty easy and very similar to SPAN 3400, which he also teaches. It is mainly lecture where Professor Riva goes through different readings from 13th century Spain. He is a little disorganized but he's a great person and is clearly passionate about what he does and he makes difficult texts somewhat understandable. The only big assignments were 1 essay and 1 group presentation throughout the semester, then the final is a timed essay. Just make sure you take as many notes as possible during lecture so that you have material for the essays and presentation. I'd recommend it for anyone taking the major or minor!
