Mo himself is a fine dude, but the class for me was almost entirely self taught. Ma's worksheets posted helped me through all of the tests. The quizzes were extremely difficult and frustrating but the tests for the most part was fair. He takes attendance by calling out random names so it's possible to skip a class and still get full credit for being there it's just risky. Overall, it was fine. Just do lot's of practice problems.

Quizzes and tests are no where near as difficult as they could be. The concepts are pretty hard but if you do the homework by yourself you will have no problem. Going to lecture is pointless you don't learn anything and its really boring, he also calls random names to answer questions which I didn't like . Teacher is a great guy but for the most part it's a self taught class. It's also a good idea to get a good group for the group work, it will really help with the quizzes.

Don't be offput by bad comments about him. He is the greatest guy and prepares you so well for his tests. I did not work that hard and got an A easily. If you do all the webwork and crunch before quiz, you will do well.

Mohajeri is a fantastic professor. He goes over the material very well, even taking time to explain how some of the formulas are derived or are similar/linked. As long as you attend all of the classes and invest about 5 hours a week into studying and homework, you will do very well in this class.

Do be warned that Mohajeri has a very thick accent, but no one should have any problems understanding him. He also takes attendance every class, and is the only APMA 2120 professor that assigns written homework from the textbook as well as WeBWorK.

I've only finished one semester, but Mike Mo has been my favorite professor so far. He really knows the information well and goes through a good amount of examples in lecture, but most of the learning comes from the problem set homework. I felt more prepared for the final than my friends with other professors and overall finished with an A in the class.

Mohajeri is a great professor that genuinely wants you to do well, although this class is rather difficult. His quizzes are more difficult than those of other teachers, however the challenging problems on his quizzes are very very similar to some of the questions on the exam; the quizzes of other teachers do not prepare you as well. This class was very application focused and it often pushes you to learn by memorizing how to do specific problems, rather than understand how concepts relate to one another, which I did not particularly enjoy. If you do all the homework and webwork problems without mathematica/wolfram alpha and make an effort to understand the concepts that are skimmed over in class, you will get at least a B+.

As many others have said, Professor Mohajeri is a really nice guy. He wants his students to succeed and is willing to help his students at all times. Saying that, I can't recommend him as a teacher. I found his lectures terribly boring, which kind of put me off of Calculus 3. It's unfortunate because the subject is filled with some really interesting and thought provoking material. He teaches off of a power point, which is something I've never seen done in a math class before, and I personally do not think works well. The power points are comprehensive in the material covered, but teaching from them leads to dry lectures with few creative explanations on the part of the teacher. The quizzes and tests were difficult, and the grading is harsh and specific. The graders frequently took off a point or two for minor errors (e.g. forgetting to simplify the final answer). I'm a student in the college and I decided to take this class over the one offered in the college because I thought it would be more challenging and more application heavy, which would benefit me in the future. Unfortunately, I found the heavy emphasis on application without theory boring and the challenge to be artificially inflated due to harsh grading, which is something to keep in mind if you choose to do the same as me. If you do choose to take this class with Mohajeri, be sure to go to his office hours. He is very helpful with working through the problem sets!

Note: The written problem sets he assigns come from the textbook, so you have to have the book. I know some other teachers did not assign homework outside of the WebWork, so the textbook would not be required for them.

Mohajeri is a kind guy; however, I would never recommend someone to take his class. First of all, he is very boring and you would never be able to follow the class. Moreover, his tests and quizzes are unnecessarily hard. He will never ask a easy question and if you think studying for the questions the webwork will help you out for the quizzes, you are wrong. There is not much source to study for the tests since notes are very superficial, book is very complicated and you will never be able to give your 100% to the classes.
To summarize, Mohajeri is a good person but a bad teacher and if you want to get an A, do not choose his section.

Mohajeri is fantastic at 3D drawing which is extremely important for this course. He is very kind and is willing to help out if you go to him. He doesn't crack a joke every class but every now and then he will drop one that you don't see coming and it is wonderful.

Mohajeri is definitely the best teacher for this challenging course. Overall, I do not think this course is run very well at UVA, but mojajeri does well with what he must work with.
