Prof. Fulgham is a solid and competent teacher. The quizzes for this class are a little hard and can ask things barely touched on in lecture. Lectures themselves are good except for his all-section Thursday classes. In his all-section Thursday classes he tends to spend time deriving formulas and doing other things that only confused us.

Pro tip: Calc 3 and Calc 2 use the same blue Pearson textbook. If your WebAssign/Pearson Calculus textbook from Calc 2 is asking you to pay another $100 to renew WebAssign access you can tell Fulgham and he will make sure that you don't have to pay again for access.

I struggled a lot with this class at first and failed the first couple of quizzes. After I started going to office hours, I found that I did a lot better. With this class, it's really all about just doing a ridiculous amount of practice problems (for me, at least). Expect to be able to put in a lot of time studying if you want to get a good grade; just reviewing and even studying a normal amount won't be helpful.

He had weekly WebWork assignments that were sometimes difficult, but if you do the problems early enough that you give yourself time to go to office hours with questions, there will be a group of five or so other students there with the same questions. Office hours basically turned into a mini lecture period about the problem questions.

Others in my class didn't like him, but I found that a combination of paying attention in class, doing a lot of practice on my own time, and going to him for help made it an overall manageable class.

Most of the material is just memorizing and being able to apply the formulas. Fulgham is okay, though he has quizzes every other week and I think are more in depth than the other classes so he might be a little harder in that aspect. Make sure to do well in the beginning, because the material gets harder through the semester.

Solid course. I had this at 9:00 in the morning, which was a little rough to walk into class and be expected to be quizzed or tested. Textbook does a decent job at covering and explaining the material, which is not particularly difficult. Ergo, I did not spend much time studying for the class. Fulgham was an excellent professor and was very helpful during his office hours.

Fulgham is a nice guy, but his style of teaching (AKA a lot of on-the-board notes) didn't fit me. Go to his office hours (not the TA hours--they're often useless), do homework with friends, actually study for the tests, and you'll be okay!
