Professor Beck is an amazing lecturer. She explains everything very thoroughly and is always open to talking in office hours. Highly recommended.

Beck is an awesome professor. She knows the material, and knows how to teach it. She's also honest and fair, and loves having students in her office just to chat. She is, by far, the best professor I've had at UVA.

Beck is an excellent teacher, by far the best calculus teacher in the Eschool. This is a tough class that you really have to study for, but take it with Beck and it will be a lot more enjoyable.

Ms. Beck is one of the best professors I've had. If you are having problems in her class, go talk to her because she is really approachable and wants to help.

It is REALLY helpful to take calculus in high school prior to taking this class because it is an extremely fast-paced class with background knowledge expected. Homeworks are only four problems weekly but they are very challenging. There are quizzes weekly and no tests except the final exam which you can take every week for the last 10 weeks of the semester and take your highest grade. Ms. Beck is an excellent teacher but this class is also incredibly difficult.

Mary Beck is a phenominal person and professor. She always goes out of her way to accomidate people and help in any way possible. Definitely spend time in her office hours and get to know her. The classes are hard, but she presents the material well.

Beck is, by far, the best APMA professor out there. The material is difficult and dry, yet she truly enjoys teaching. Definitely go to her office hours and take the time to not only learn the material, but get to know her! Even now, as a 4th year, she still remembers me from first year...if you have the chance, take her class, hands down.
