Guadagni has a bad rep in the APMA department. While he's not the absolute best lecturer, he's not the worst I've ever had. He had some funny things to say sometimes. The class however was very difficult. I was used to not studying and getting good grades in Math, but you can not do this here. I scored low on almost every weekly quiz in the beginning, but started to bring it up towards the end. The tests were also hard. Luckily, he dropped 5 quizzes in the end, so it really brought up my grade, which probably would have been a low C. If you study better than I do, you should do fine. He does iClicker questions, so you have to show up to every lecture.

This class was AWFUL! Despite having basically passed this class once in high school, Guadagni found a way to over-complicated nearly every subject we learned. No doubt this guy really knows his calculus, but his ability to teach it? I'm far from convinced. The quizzes were near-impossible and the tests brutal, and this is coming from someone who did all the optional homework and went in for tutoring several times a week. I'm a math person- but Guadagni is NOT the one to learn it from. I'd rather take a class over the summer at some community college or online than take another class with Guadagni ever again! AVOID THIS MAN!

The Professor isn't that good. You have to rely on the book to teach you, but even worse, the book is hard to understand sometimes. However if you go to office hours regularly then you feel like he'll be more helpful there than he is in class

I rarely learned anything while actually sitting in class and instead learned the material as I went through the homeworks and solutions. TA's were helpful to go to, especially for the Webwork quizzes.

Funny, personable guy, but not a great teacher. Often makes mistakes while doing examples. Will either hit things right on the head, or miss them completely. Math oriented people should be able to do fine, but if you are not good at Single Variable Calc, get someone who can explain it well.

Sidenote- The TAs (help with homework) are normally awful.

Nice, friendly professor. He is overall a fairly good lecturer, but sometimes gets lost in his examples. As long as you pay attention and do the homework, you should be fine in his class.

Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. The grading on the tests is awful. You can know the material extremely well, make a silly mistake on a problem and wind up with a c.

Professor is a pretty good lecturer; generally explains things clearly. Occasionally makes small errors, but almost always notices/clarifies. Sometimes makes seemingly random connections between maths and the real world (e.g. Lampedusa boat disaster, space needles). Funny guy; somehow his Italian accent makes class interesting.

The course material isn't super hard if you're a math person, but it is easy to lose points on tests/quizzes--small errors will make you lose a lot of points.

Mr. Guadagni is a joke. He is not clear about anything, and he will bring your grades to the ground. In the middle of the course two people came into the class in order for the class to evaluate him as a teacher. He left the room and the entire class told them what he was doing wrong and how bad of a teacher he really was. He received the report two weeks later and did NOTHING to improve his teaching. If you want to self teach calculus take him, if not take Beck.

Hard to understand lectures, spent much more time on things that were essentially useless than on anything that would appear on homework/tests
