Class started out dry for a few weeks. Got progressively more interesting as the semester went on. Weston is super nice and very very smart. She offers some interesting perspectives in lectures The class is difficult but not impossible. Its worth the effort, would recommend.

While I didn't take this class, I took ANTH 2590 with Professor Weston and had mixed feelings about taking her class. Weston is super sweet and really knowledgeable. If you go to her office hours, you can have some good conversation. She's a fair grader, although she can be on the tougher side sometimes, but overall if you just do the work you can get an A. She also didn't have a final or mid-term so it's just weekly assignments and readings which you can get away with only half doing. Although she herself is quite an interesting professor, her lectures can be quite dry. She's not the most exciting lecturer, but some of this feeling may have also come from my lack of interest in the subject. Plus you can't really skip lectures because you lose participation points. However, you don't have to pay attention since there's no exams, although it does help with the final paper to listen. Overall I would recommend her class since it's not difficult (but does require some work), as long as you have a good attention span/can pretend like you're listening.
