Honestly went into this course thinking I would learn a lot about social problems and the world. Unless you're favorite thing in the world to talk about is Wal-Mart and the economics about it, I highly recommend NOT taking it. Bair is very knowledgeable but tends to forget that this is a sociology class and not the economics of Wal-Mart class. They are very picky on essays and how they grade them and tests have nothing to do with broad sociological topics we talked about but rather specific statistics that aren't useful at all and aren't even a main point, therefore making it hard to get a high grade. Bair is a really nice professor and always willing to help/review essays (so helpful), but I highly recommend not taking this class especially if you want to learn about social problems. Truly not hard at all until it comes to the grading and specific test questions.
