If you are lucky enough to grab Mae Speight as your TA for this course, you're going to have an amazing semester. Mae is likely the best TA I've had at UVA and has set the bar high for my future TAs in the religious studies department and in other departments. She's very relaxed, knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely interested in the course. I went to see her in office hours to discuss questions before each test and I ended up having great conversations with her that had nothing to do with the class. She's a kind grader and an even better person who really is interested in helping you do well. I absolutely would recommend her, as she is the perfect TA for a course of this style.
