Hard Class, but incredibly interesting. He focuses on drugs, narcotraf. and mafias in Latin America. Read a lot, and learn a lot. Midterm is hard, but the final is a research paper.

WORST class I have ever taken at U.Va., and Latin American politics is my passion. He is downright awful and should not be a professor, but he's tenured. Any honest opinion from other politics professors will tell you the same. Don't do any of the readings and expect a B+ because that's what he gives everybody.
