Professor Teo's lectures consist of derivations. As is common in the Physics department, there is no emphasis on teaching the material so that students will learn anything. The homework was relatively easy, only because it is taken directly from the textbook and the solutions are available online. The exams were ridiculous, with the class average on the first exam being 35%, the second exam 54%, and the final 40%. Plus, he allowed 5 students to retake the second midterm because the did a lot worse than the first midterm, no one else got that option (so unfair). Class was a waste of time, but a required course for Physics majors. Such a shame.

Teo is a decent lecturer who gives relatively easy homeworks and tests that are extremely difficult to finish in 50 minutes. I think the average on our first test was a 50 and the second test a 30. That said, he curves very generously. E&M is a tough class but I don't think any of the problems given in homeworks or tests were unreasonable.
