Overall I didn't have a terribly difficult time with this course. PQ isn't the worst lecturer but he's not the best, and his slides could be a bit more difficult to follow at times than Jeffrey Teo, who I had last semester. That being said, you need to make sure you pay attention in lecture because the book is honestly kind of useless, and Shivaram's materials aren't worth using. You can normally glean most of the info you actually need from the powerpoints, and the clicker questions (which are less than frequent) are a nice boost to your grade. Exams are pretty calculation-based and somewhat difficult but if you study before and understand how to use the equations (not just what each equation is) they're manageable. This class is not fun, but if you're pre-med it's necessary, and though PQ is not an amazing lecturer, his lectures will teach you what you need to know for his exams.

Professor Hung means well and truly wants us to succeed. However, his accent and general disorganization make learning very difficult in lecture and I oftentimes find myself zoning out. During my semester, Hung co-taught the course with Lindgren. When Lindgren made the exams, they were rather difficult and conceptually heavy whereas when Hung made the exams calculations were emphasized. The only problem is that you don't know who is making the exam until you're sitting in the lecture hall about to take it. Hung's exams were noticeably easier though so if you truly have to take this class take it with Hung. He makes your final exam if you are in his section. Clicker questions are a rarity in the class because Professor Hung does not understand how to use the program and usually eschews from them in order to get through more material. The averages for the exams when Hung makes them are around ~70% which are curved at the end of the semester using a normalization formula. Just perform above the average on the midterms and final and you should end up with a B+ to A depending on statistics that are contingent upon the distributions.

Class is made a lot harder by Hung cause he is hard to understand and is not a very good lecturer. He is not very approachable outside of the classroom. If you're pre-mad and have to take this don't take it with Hung, and be prpared to teach yourself a lot.
