Professor Ziegler was amazing: very knowledgeable, humorous, and personable. This course features difficult readings of philosophers, but Prof. Ziegler made the readings easily digestible, and his lectures were a big help in understanding the material. The grade consisted of a midterm, final, reading quizzes, and a 2500-word term paper. Midterm and final are exactly the same: you're provided a bank of questions and have to pick one from each section. For the paper, you could either write about a given prompt or choose your own prompt. The reading quizzes were given randomly throughout the semester, but you were given every possible reading quiz question that could be asked on any given day (2-3). This class contained very interesting material and was a great class to satisfy the history requirement for the PHIL major.
