I took this class from PERS 1010 to PERS 2020. Mahshad might end up being my favorite professor I had at UVA. She loves to foster genuine connections between herself and the students, taking time to get to know you as a person. I did notice that there was a huge gap in difficulty between 1010 - 2010 and 2020; the material definitely ramps up significantly in the last semester. With that being said, Mahshad grades on effort over anything else, so don't try to stress too much if you feel lost on the material. As long as you're trying (participating in class, attending office hours once every while, at least doing some of the homework), you should be able to score highly in the class. The tests can be pretty difficult, but as long as you can understand the readings, you should be relatively okay. Overall, Mahshad is an excellent teacher, and Persian is a great language to take at the university. Highly recommend!

Prof. Mohit is a really fun lady to be around and she is a great teacher! The class is not very difficult and it actually helps you learn the language well.
