Easy A with very little work put in. I felt as though I didnt learn anything valuable in this class as it covers topics too quickly and not in sufficient depth. The essays are super cool though and enjoyed writting them. Besides that I think this class is a waste of time.

Intro to Music was a laid-back class without too many frills. If you want to be invested you'll definitely learn a lot about different genres of music (not just classical) throughout the semester. Like every broad course, you don't spend much time in each era, so if you're really into jazz or classical or chant music but don't care about other genres, this class might be really unfulfilling. Class-prep time is minimal. If you want to do the readings, it's fast and helps you engage in class. If not, you can just...not bother. And learn very little. Blog posts every week were not harshly graded, they were more of a completion grade. But the three or so essays we write throughout the semester (graded by TA Gunst) were graded on grammar and content, much more strict and subjective, not an easy pass. Tune tests were simple if you took notes in discussion section and listened to the music the night before and looked at the textbook's analysis.
All in all, a chill additional class if you need a break from heavier stuff going on in the semester.
