This class is definitely tough, but Kent is the man. He really cares about what he teaches as it pertains to a lot of the stuff he does in his lab (which is probably the coolest lab in mech and he knows it). He doesn't do powerpoints, just lectures on the chalkboard which is fine because he's a great lecturer, but can also suck if you're trying to study for a test and didn't take good enough notes. So take good notes every day. Tests are quite difficult, but he gives a very generous curve so if you get above average you'll get a B+ pretty much guaranteed. Overall learned a lot in the class.

Kent is a really great teacher, but his tests can be brutal. You learn a lot during class, but most of the test questions come from the book and cover material that you didn't learn in class. It isn't impossible to get an A, but you seriously have to study for the tests in order to do so. Homework is an absolute joke.
Best professor in the MAE department. Definitely one of the few, if any, MAE classes in which I was able to grasp concepts as they were being taught during class time, so pay attention and take good notes. Kent is also awesome in general and definitely tries to help students who reach out to him.
Kent is awesome. Knows his stuff, makes it interesting and has legitimate real world experience in the field. Course is tough, but kent is helpful and if you take good notes and learn the homework it's not too bad.
Kent is the man! The class does require a lot of work an is slightly hard, but if you do the work you can end up with a reasonable grade. Kent can get off on some cool stories of his life playing golf with if time actors or politicians...and when I took the class he brought in his redskins cheerleader girlfriend
Kent is a really good professor but you have to go to class and TA review/ office hrs to really understand the material for the test. Hard class but not bad if you do these things.
Professor Kent is the man. He makes a topic that isn't that interesting very interesting.
He is a really knowledgeable professor and fun to listen to
Kent is a very enthusiastic professor and tries to keep the class interested in the material, although most of the material is very dry. Weekly homework sets, 2 midterms, and a final. Be prepared for some gruesome videos - he works with cadavers in a biomech lab.
Awesome class, always something interesting going on. Kent works to show everyone how relevant everything he is teaching is in the world by bringing in examples of his work.
