Combined with the 1.5 credit mandatory lab, this class takes a lot of work. Between the labs, projects, homework, and tests, you stay pretty busy.the whole semester.
The lectures in class range from very helpful to completely intelligible. You can tell that Harry knows his stuff, but sometimes he doesn't effectively get his point across.
This being said, the material is useful and interesting, and definitely worth learning, especially if you're interests lie in this field. Harry has plenty of office hours, and is happy to help you understand the concepts out of class. The grading is fairly easy, so if you show up to class, do the work, and seek help if you need it, you won't have any problems on that front.

The material for this class was more difficult than expected. Make sure you take good notes because Harry takes alot of test/hw material from them. Also, the book is mediocre at best.

Professor Powell is a good lecturer, but he moves really slowly and only covers certain areas in depth. We didn't learn anything about power distribution; we just focused on machinery and transformers. Also, he assigned work that took a really long time, then ended up giving most people good grades just for trying.
