Great class. Professor Welch is awesome and super chill with homework, which isn't required but can boost your grade. Exams aren't too bad and generally follow the format of homework questions with some being more conceptual and some more math based. The content overall isn't that difficult and a lot was review from AP chemistry, so I didn't have any trouble following along. Definitely easier and less work overall than organic chemistry so if you got through that, this class shouldn't be too difficult. Welch writes things out by hand rather than using powerpoints, which I find easier to follow in a class with a lot of equations. The textbook is great for practice problems and the readings aren't that long either so its easy to keep up with them. Overall, I thought this was a great class to finish the 800s with and I'm glad I took it. Good luck :) #tCFspring2021

Prof Welch did an amazing job delivering this course through a virtual format. He was very flexible on problem set due dates and made exams on a take on your own time basis. The course itself covers thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, and kinetics from AP Chem but more in depth compared to 1420.
