I've never been a huge fan of labs, so I really didn't like this lab. Chemistry labs have the procedures written for you, but that is not the case here. This lab really focuses on learning how to think about the processes, coming up with an appropriate procedure, and working together in groups that you don't get to choose because you don't get to choose in real life. There are 5 labs - fluid flow in pipes, mixing and agitation, heat exchanger, climbing film evaporator, and distillation column. Unlike your previous lab, you have to write a report every week, pre and post lab. You also have a 30 min presentation on 1 of the labs. Anderson takes forever to get your grades back. TL;DR lots of writing, lots of calculations and data that you don't know what to do with, lots of group work.

Anderson is pretty bad at keeping this course organized and doing anything on time. He emphasizes punctuality yet we never got most of our reports back because he never got around to grading them. Anything that requires effort on his part is done at the last minute. Overall he's a pretty condescending and hypocritical guy, which is a shame because this lab could be interesting and informative if it was run well.
