TAKE THIS CLASS WITH PROFESSOR DOYLE. Elzinga is over-rated and simply makes his exams much harder than they should be. Professor Doyle was awesome and the difference in the exams is literally mind-blowing. Not to mention it is much smaller sections (80-100 people vs 450). If you are looking to get a good grade, take it with Doyle.. you might not understand it is as well as Elzinga (granted I took Econ in high school anyways). But, I have smart friends struggling to get A's in Elzinga's class and I'm finishing my exam in 20 minutes.

Great professor. Doyle is straightforward with both his lectures and his tests, not only giving slides that review all the topics that will be covered but by having an exam that isn't designed to trip you up. If you do the reading and pay attention in class, studying for the test shouldn't even be a problem. Also a cool guy and easy to listen to for 50 minutes. Take micro with him.

Don't be deceived by how easy the class seems, however if you consciously take notes and show up to lectures you can definitely get an A. The hardest part are the quizzes in discussion; great professor, much less great TAs. Interesting class overall, would recommend.

Professor Doyle was a super nice guy and pretty good lecturer, and if you are thinking of doing Pre-Comm or an Econ Major I would take the class with him instead of Elzinga. I'm not trying to do either of these things so I found the class to be pretty boring, but if you are I would definitely do it with Doyle!

Really nice professor who wants his students to succeed. His tests are relatively easy and you just have to keep up with the textbook reading. Take him over Elzinga if you're looking to get a better grade and a professor who will actually take the time to learn your name!

Easiest econ intro class ever. Free clicker points based on participation. Tests are extremely easy. No homework, did no readings, skipped all discussions except for TA quizzes, skipped a bunch of lectures, ended up with almost an A+.

A very straightforward class - Doyle is very nice and very helpful if you go to office hours. With that being said, office hours are not necessary at all; material is easy if you can think logically and tests are based completely off of powerpoints and definitely use the review study guide he recommends. As long as you understand concepts and go through the powerpoint, this class should be easy.

Good teacher. If you attend lectures and understand everything you don't really need to read the textbook. Exams straightforward

It's very evident that Doyle cares for his students; he really wants everyone to do well. The class is also very straightforward. If you make a little effort to study, you should do pretty well.
