Curve is great, over 50% get at least a B+
Definitely take this class, especially if you are pre-comm. He doesn't require a textbook so there are no reading assignments, and the only homework he gives are helpful practice problems that are very similar to the test questions. He is a fast lecturer but the style of his class makes it pretty easy to do well. All tests are true/false and multiple choice--no writing. He also uses clicker points and a video group project. 50% of our class this semester got a B+ or higher. Compared to other 2010 professors, his class requires less work.
Ignacio is a really fast lecturer so it can be hard to keep up sometimes. He is not very good at explaining and answering questions. He doesn't require any textbook readings but you definitely should read the textbook if you want to do well in the class. If you're pre-comm, take this class over Elzinga's class. This class is not that hard and the curve is pretty great.
All his tests were multiple choice. The lecture and textbook material was easy, but tests were very hard. Curve didn't help me at all. I ended up with a solid B, with or without the curve, and my friends who were doing much worse than me also ended up with a B.
