SoM isn't the most interesting class. It's basically just statics part 2, where some of the concepts from SoM extend concepts from statics and all of them are more difficult to work with. Problems in SoM are very hard to visualize, and a lot of equations and laws you learn don't make physical sense like they do in statics. I thought SoM was much harder than statics, but some people thought the other way around--I don't know, maybe it just comes down to personal preference. Anyway, Pindera's class has 2 midterms and a final, which is very different from Kerrigan who does bi-weekly mini-exams, so keep that in mind when deciding who to take this class with (at least, that's how their classes worked in S20). Pindera is a pretty boring lecturer but sometimes he'll say something funny. Again, not an interesting class but study your homeworks before test time and you'll be okay.

Strength of Materials is harder than statics. When I took statics for Pindera, I remember I would not pay much attention at all and when exams came along, I read the textbook the night before and I got an A- in that class. I tried that for Strength of Materials and got a B-. This concepts in this class will be more challenging. This class should not be bad if you just study more.

Everything is from the book; go to his study sessions and he'll basically go over the test. FYI, the average for this course was definitely over a 3.1 (what it says on theCourseForum).
