This course was challenging but not terrible. Clarens was a fun teacher.

Horrible!!! This class is very challenging because you leave more confused than when you arrived. Claren's style is fratty and under par. Homework needs office hours.
Clarens is an alright professor. He doesn't deal with feedback very well. "This is why I'm NOT going to do what you all suggested:" In class problems are always short on time and he rarely really shows you how to do things. Tests are decently fair, I felt like a lot of the material never got tested. Multiple choice is always a shot in the dark. A little too bro sometimes. The homework is usually pretty difficult, ALWAYS do it in a group, else you'll go insane. The TA Shane is really helpful if you know how to ask the right questions. Keep your notes well-organized, you get a ton of formulas to keep up with. A lot of his illustrations and lectures were fun.
Who knows how he gives out our grades. The world will never know. Unfair in grading exams and lab. Disorganized course with not so effective professor - He makes us buy a $150 book, and we used it for 1/3 of the class. the other 1/3 were online, and the last 1/3 were from a different book. Too bad this is a required course...
Interesting class. Clarens is unclear during lectures sometimes but the homework is a good way to learn material
Good luck. The material is interesting, and the free response on the tests are just like in class problems and homework. However his multiple choice is completely random facts that only lucky guessers will get.
Not really much you can do but try to learn the overall concepts very well, instead of just looking at book problems
Clarens is such a bro. He cannot answer questions in class, all he does is confuse everybody and himself, then gives tests that are impossible.
