Overall a very worthwhile class. There are no midterms, but quick ten question quizzes every class. There is one paper due at the end of the course, but plenty of helpful revisions are given.

Look at the grade distribution. Notice how there is a DRASTIC drop in how many As were granted this past semester? That was Guilford making his class more "difficult" by giving fewer As although the students presented the same quality of work as previous years. How nice.
challenging, gilford's lectures are recorded and put online. never went to class and still did well
Guilford is one of the best professors in the department. He is extremely knowledgeable on the material and he makes wonderful slides to explain all of the concepts. You will learn a lot in his class, but his tests tend to be on the tricky side even with his slides, but they are still doable. Overall, a better class than most.
Interesting material but nonetheless a dissapointing class
Professor Guilford is really knowledgeable and has some very good slide sets for his lectures. He posts them on toolkit, which makes studying a LOT easier. Tests can be tricky. The review article isn't that bad, but DO NOT put it off until the last minute.
This course is worthwhile even if you already have a strong background in biology. He spends equal amounts of time on the biology concepts and different diseases. The tests are tricky though because no matter how well you know the material, he will put questions on the test that require using the stuff he taught in class to make an educated guess about something he didn't teach. Good idea, but it makes the tests hard to study for.
Lectures are well structured, but the tests are annoying. Memorize the slides and they'll still be tricky. He doesn't hand them back so you have to go to him to find out how you did.
The class is easy if you take it when you're supposed to. Don't take it as a first year because you will struggle and suffer. As a second semester second year, it's easy peasy.
A demanding class, lots of memorization and hart tests. But great materials to know. The avg grade went up 0.5 from 2005 to 2006!!!! Such a huge jump!
