One of the best decisions of my academic life has been starting and getting involved in the American Sign Language Program here at UVA. It is extremely rewarding and I have had so much fun with the language, students, and the community. And Bobbie is absolutely the best, and the entire class loved her. She is totally understanding, helpful, chill, and nice! She would constantly bring us snacks too!
Like any language, it gets harder as you go along, but ASL has its perks and downfalls - there's no writing or conjugating or speaking it out loud, only signing and learning how to fluently. Con, if you don't know what a sign means, you can't go look it up, you need to find someone and ask if they know.
But overall no regrets, class is the best, the program is the best, and Bobbie is the absolute best.
