Really passionate and SO knowledgable. The content can be a little boring at times, but I found the course as a whole very captivating. 10 one page papers due throughout the semester (so easy), one 5-page research paper due at the end, and he prepares really well for the midterm and final. I highly recommend this course.
Professor Eric is incredibly passionate about what he teaches and you can really feel that in every lecture. He's a great lecturer, so it makes sitting in lecture much easier.
To do well in the course, you don't need to read any of the articles that are assigned (outside of the one you need to read to write the one-page essay for discussion), but you do need to attend as many lectures as you can, as much of the test material is covered in lecture and not so much discussed in the slides. For tests, you will need to memorize 50 slides of architecture with pictures and a long caption for each test. It's doable in a week, but it might be best to start two weeks ahead of time. The 5 page architecture paper is tedious, but quite easy to get a good grade on, if you choose a piece of architecture you know and can ramble about.
Also, make sure to take advantage of any extra credit given! They will boost your grade a lot. (Note that the cutoff for an A is a 95 not a 93! )
