Kent Wayland is actually a really cool guy to get to know. I enjoyed taking both STS4500 and 4600 with him. For this class specifically, I found it to be easier and more interesting than STS4500, because ethics cases are more engaging. Kent isn't the most organized when it comes to lecturing, with most classes ending before he could establish any of the strong points that he wanted to make. Also, he didn't grade much of anything other than the prospectus/thesis until the end of the semester, which I disliked because I had no idea how I was doing in the course. His grading is also a bit arbitrary (example: "you did a great job with this" - grade: 9.2/10). He's really approachable after class and I would encourage you to do so. Overall, I'd recommend him as your STS professor.
