Poveda is the best! I had her for two semesters, and she is such a dedicated professor. The Community Engagement program has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had at UVA. The projects we worked on were directly related to the volunteering component of the course, so I felt like I could truly use my Spanish in a meaningful way, both in and out of the classroom. Poveda is very knowledgeable and passionate, and we often had very interesting conversations in class about very important modern issues. Like any Spanish class, there is a moderately large amount of work, but Poveda makes it worthwhile. As long as you put in a good amount of effort, you'll easily get a good grade and find the course very rewarding.
