Take this class with Profesora Rabke! She is a great professor who does everything to help her students succeed in the class and come out with the best grade possible. She was pretty lenient with deadlines and understood that we were still students under increased stress due to COVID, and recorded her lectures & uploaded all material for anyone who missed class. She also didn't hesitate to go over additional material as needed in class (like all introductory Spanish courses, the class uses the "flipped" approach)) and help out over email or in office hours.
The curriculum for this course is standardized, so any professor you take it with will give you the same assignments/exams/etc throughout the semester. Assignments consisted of Connect homework (comprehension/practice) due each day of class, reading comprehension activities for a completion grade, three "interacción" videos (filmed with a partner) - of which one is graded, and two "redacción" essays (which are revised and graded).
The class had two "real" exams throughout the semester plus a final, a few low-stakes quizzes, and a final cultural project which mirrors the one in SPAN 2010 (you just have to pick another topic). A lot of the work in the class is simply busywork to help you keep practicing, and not the most fun thing in the world. #tCFspring2022
