Super nice and fun professor! creates a great classroom atmosphere! Very fair with grading and amazing one on one! Definitely recommend!

Esperanza is a great professor. She always comes to class with a positive attitude and creates different activities to help with learning the material, rather than doing the same exercises out of the book over and over. She is also a fairly lenient grader when it comes to most of the activities. The class is extremely tedious at times, but this professor is the definitely the best one to take SPAN 2020 with.

Spanish 2020 sucks, but this is the best professor you can get for this course. She is great. She lightens the load and pushes back deadlines when possible and other professors don't do that. Also she enjoys teaching and is always smiling.

Esperanza is really sweet and very understanding. The e-portfolio was a HUGE part of the course this semester and Esperanza was always really understanding about deadlines, and often gave the class extensions. Tests were not too bad, similar to the other required Spanish classes at UVA. Make flashcards and do the homework. No final and Esperanza grades very fairly.

Esperanza Gorriz is the best! She is very friendly, a fair grader, and really wants to make sure we understand the material. I took the class to satisfy the foreign language requirement, but she really made it a class I looked forwarded to coming to.
