I took this class because of the great reviews Carrie has on here...I was super surprised to find that none of them were very accurate. This was my least favorite semester of Spanish by far. We still have grades from FEBRUARY that are not in the grade book yet. Seriously. Waiting for grades in this class has been insane. The class is extremely disorganized, dates for work change all the time. My friends in the same level (SPAN 2020) would get equivalent assignments/grades back a month, even two months in some cases, before me. I am usually pretty lenient when writing reviews but this added so much unnecessary stress to my semester. I'm not sure if this was just an "off semester" for her...but it was awful. Can't recommend at all, unfortunately.

Easily the best SPAN professor I've had at UVa. SPAN 2020 was my 4th and LAST SPAN class, and I am so glad that I had Prof. Bramlet. I absolutely hated Spanish before this semester, but Prof. Bramlet made me actually begin to like it. Highly recommend taking it with her!!!
Great professor, I highly recommend! She makes the material fun and easy to learn. I ended up with an A- when I thought I was going to get an A, but no complaints here.
I'm so glad that I had Prof. Bramlet for Span 2020! She was extremely approachable and made the content easy to learn. I usually hate Spanish classes, so the fact that I ended up with an A with her says a lot.
Carrie is great. Study Spanish with Carrie!
HIGHLY recommend taking SPAN 2010/2020 with Bramlet. She is honestly the most enthusiastic, and most enjoyable person to be around, and you can truly feel that she enjoys what she does. Utilize her office hours, she provides powerpoint, good study guide reviews for hard concepts and prepares you well for the exams.
Although I have always been critical of the Spanish Department's highly formulaic approach to teaching the language, I found Sra. Bramlet's enthusiasm to be refreshing. She was extremely helpful in and out of the classroom and even provided additional materials to help us study. I do not recommend this particular course offering. I would, however, recommend Sra. Bramlet for those who must take Spanish 2010/2020.
Carrie's pretty cool. She really cares about her students and puts in a lot of effort to helping those who come to her office hours. She's a fair grader, but what I REALLY liked about her was that she didn't grade the quias on accuracy, just on completion which saved a lot of time. Overall she's not amazing, but definitely on the better side.
Carrie is alright, she talks really fast (absolutely no english in class), and can be a harsh grader. She definitely cares about her students though and is willing to help if you go to her with questions.
