the class is more focused on learning design challenges in VLSI technology. The homeworks are not that hard because they are mostly a review of Digital Integrated Circuits but the SRAM design project takes a lot of time. You should start the project early and ask lots of questions in office hours. Ended up spending the majority of each day in the unix lab finishing the project. Very fair grader though and lets you do test corrections.

Excellent class for those wanting to learn about IC design. Calhoun is difficult but thorough and spends lots of time to make sure what you learn is important and worthwhile. The majority of the class surrounds a design project and includes a lot of time in the design lab.
