Bobby is a genius. He does the best he can at teaching an incredibly hard class, and you have to come prepared. Test averages were between 46-58, and the homeworks are hard as hell, but it's not impossible to do well.

Bobby is a great professor but the class is very difficult. The homeworks are very difficult and the tests are very difficult. But this class has really raised my understanding of E-fields. Tips for this class would be to stay on top of things and if you don't, try your best on everything you do. Do all the homeworks and take notes in your labs. Everyone is capable of doing better than they think. Do not be discouraged by what people say.

Honestly his ability to handle my misunderstanding of most concepts was incredible. Hard class though. Tests averages were 50s, speaks for itself.

Bobby Weikle is extremely knowledgeable about the course material and, with that being said, expects a great deal of effort out of his students. While he throws a significant amount of material at you every class, he is very willing to review and help you one-on-one, especially during weekly problem sessions he provides outside of class hours. The workload consisted of weekly homeworks which had conceptual problems (which varied between hard and mind-numbingly difficult) as well as questions to be answered about the in-class labs (no formal lab write-ups were required), two midterms, and a final. Additionally, his exams are profoundly laborious experiences and averages are usually in the mid-50s. Overall, if you take this course, you will leave with a surplus of knowledge about EMF (and how to use a Smith chart) but be ready to put in 10+ hours of work on a weekly basis.

This is probably the hardest course in the ECE curriculum. Professor Weikle is extremely knowledgeable about the subject and wants people to understand the material and succeed, but at the same time is also comfortable giving tests and homeworks with averages in the fifties. I think everyone who put in the thought and effort came out with a good grade, while those who gave up and didn't try did pretty poorly. For those who just want to knock out a requirement, take Physics II; for people who are genuinely interested in ECE, this class is a must-take.

Bobby Weikle is a good Professor who is willing to explain stuff to you but it seems he makes things a little harder than they have to be. The homeworks were all very hard, and I didn't just think so, the majority of the class did. Also he said he'd make the tests 'easy' if you know the material but he made them hard and apologized later by saying they were harder than he'd anticipated. Overall I'd say take this class only if you're EE otherwise take Physics 2

bobby is a great professor. the key is to go to office hours, and to make sure you understand every topic before the professor moves on to another one: they are all connected. Besides it was a fun and hard class, but if u put the effort you should be good. I bought an old version of the "problem solver in em" that really helped me.

Homework is half relatively easy and half extremely difficult. Most people end up looking online for the solutions (which I do not recommend doing, if you want a good grade in the class). Copying homework (15%) is not worth ruining your midterm and final grades (total of 85%). People definitely overrated the difficulty of this class. Yes the material is difficult (but that is the nature of the subject, not the professor). Doesn't really matter what professor you have for this subject, this course is difficult. This is an unnecessary evil for EE's, but try to get something out of it, instead of trying to fail.
