Good class to take when your courseload is heavy. Grossmann is a nice dude but I found it hard to stay awake sometimes because his voice was too soothing. Overall, the concepts were interesting, and you could get all the answers right just by skimming the textbook and reading off the slides.

It's an easy class, but the lectures are dreadfully boring. I'd say go to class or read the book, but both aren't greatly necessary unless you're going for near perfect scores.

Yes Professor Grossman is not really that engaging but seriously that's the only downside to the class. Your grade is just a couple of exams, but the exams are incredibly fair. While most huge classes operate off of just a few exams, I found this class to be a pleasant exception in terms of professors making God-awful exams and tricking students at every possible opportunity. The exams aren't tricky and all you need to do is just thoroughly study all the material. Out of all the massive classes at UVA, this class ranks among the top few. Also, professor grossman is super nice (a bit of a German accent but other than that he's fine).

My review: Abnormal > Social > biology department > child Psyc --- this class is SUPER boring and having a monotonous lecturer does not help. Grossman is super boring and his lectures are crazy dry. He does not do clickers and posts his slides. You may think that learning about children is cool, but don't be fooled, it is all general psyc stuff + common sense applied to infants.

What you need to know: 3 tests, no final -- and Grossman dropped your lowest test grade - what a semester to take this class and he gave two bonus questions that were softballs to help you out -- the tests are super easy and a mix of memorization and application, but he won't try to test you on super specifics. Read the book and go to class and you'll get an A+

This class is horribly boring. The professor was not engaging and read from the slides. You do not have to go to class or read the textbook to do well. Just know the lecture notes and skim the book and it'll be okay. It's easy, but not worth your time if you want to take a PSYC class for fun.

As long as you put in a little effort when it comes to studying, it is fairly easy to do well in this class! The final grade consists solely of your two highest midterm grades and there are no clicker questions. If you have taken Intro to Psych, this class will be incredibly familiar because a lot of the material overlaps. Would definitely recommend!
