Great class where you truly get to learn how a museum works, but you have to be ready for group work and doing lots of work outside of class. Readings are itneresting too, but not necessary necessary for the papers.

Prof Beorn is by far the most incompetent professor I have ever had. The whole premise of this course is to create a 6-panel exhibit on a topic of our choosing. This was a mess almost immediately. Beorn left the country for two weeks without telling any of us or giving us any guidelines of what to do in his absence other than research. Because he was never around to help, it took us months to even pick a topic, leaving us with only a couple weeks to actually write and print the panels. He also was always very dismissive and rude towards me; however this may have been more of a personal issue as I know some of my peers loved him. The readings were interesting but unnecessary. He also requires two pointless field trips on two Saturdays, one of which was in Richmond and took over eight hours. It was absurd. This class has such potential but Beorn ruined it by being generally awful.
