You do not need to have experience in musical theater to take this class. The course is a series of personally-selected songs, from a variety of themes, that you will perform in front of the class. There is one final, public performance. You will be graded on your effort, not your raw musical/acting skill. This is a class about taking risks and finding the courage to try something new. Put in the rehearsal time, think deeply about your song selections, be creative: if you do these things, you can handle this class. Greg Harris is encouraging and fun to work with. His unapologetic sense of humor and enthusiasm are unparalleled at UVA. This course is a blast! If you have the opportunity, take it!
